In Spanish its ''Dia de los Muertos''
These are the notes i gt from Wikipedia about THE DAY OF THE DEAD
- This Holiday Focuses on Gatherings of family and friends to pray for their friends and family members who have died *Passed away*
- The celebration occurs on November 2nd in connection with the catholic holidays ''All Saint's day'' and ''All Soul's day'' Which cause im not christian i have no idea what they do at Those two holidays... But it sounds interesting :) I can ask my friend like When school starts on what they do at those holidays.
- Traditions connected with the holiday include building private altars honoring the ''deceased'' (--> I dunno what that means bu the way :D) using sugar Skulls, Marigolds, and the favorite foods and beverages of the departed, and visitting graves with these as gifts.
- It kinda looks like that The Day of the Dead in mexico was a ritual that celebrates the death of the Ancestors, And was observed by these civilazations perhaps 2,500-3,000 years.
- In pre-hispanic era, it was common to keep skulls as throphies and display them during the rituals to symbolize death and rebirth.
- In most regions in Mexico:
November 2nd: for Adults (''Dia de los Muertos'' or ''Dia de los Difuntos'')
- Orange Mexican Marigolds (Tagetes Erecta) , In Modern Mexico, this name is sometimes replaces with the term ''Flor de Muertos'' that means Flower of the dead. These flowers are thought to attract souls of the dead to the offerings.
She is like this Skeleton lady, named Catrina from Catrin that means Elegant. And she IS wearing this elegant dress and hat to match her name. She maybe the Lady of the Dead.. Maybe..
